You've Been Doing It Again,
Haven't You?
I know Your Story...

Everyone is different, but the results are usually the same…

Before we get to that, I’ve got a quick question for you…

Do you want to create a beautiful garden – your own private space, where you can unwind and be at peace, enjoying nature?

Would you love to have an amazing garden you can relax in with friends and family?

So why hasn't it happened for you yet?

Come on… admit it…

This isn't the first time you've been looking for ideas for your garden is it?

So, when is it going to be your turn to have the real thing and not rely on a fix of ‘garden porn’ off the internet!? ;o)
I know there's a perception that small gardens are difficult to do anything with, but when you read the rest of this page you are going to discover how to make any small garden look larger (and therefore more interesting).…

My name is Rachel and a few years ago I was just like you – I desperately wanted to create my dream garden but I didn't know how…

I remember the searing pain in my lower back as I dug up virtually the entire garden for what must have been the10th time … Determined beyond reason that I was going to create my own personal paradise…

Except it wasn't happening.

I’d spent weeks researching EVERY single plant.

We hadn’t skimped on quality (which isn’t cheap to do)

We’d got beautiful plants, yet I couldn’t make the garden beautiful…

It didn’t matter how many times I moved plants it made no difference!

Aaargh, it was SOOOO frustrating (not to mention painful)!

There was no Internet back then and I was trying to teach myself from a garden design book.
The problem was, I didn't understand half of it. It was written in ‘designer speak’.

I also didn't understand at the time that plants aren't the real KEY to creating a wonderful garden.

That's why digging up everything and moving them wasn't working.

Though I did realise I had to learn about design properly if I wanted to get good results.

Despite my abysmal attempts at creating a great garden, with my love of plants and being out in nature, I still thought garden design might be a potential career choice!

So, I enrolled in a year-long design course at the best design college…

And although by the end of it, I understood the principles of garden design in theory, I still found it difficult when it came to applying them in the real world…

So even though I was now a professionally qualified designer, I struggled with producing good designs consistently.

And I struggled, and struggled…

After a few years I did have a breakthrough that enabled me to figure out a method (or formula if you like) that enables me to design great gardens quickly and easily.

That's when I realised what had been going wrong…

We weren't taught a design method in college. We were taught the ‘what’ to do but not the ‘how’ – theory alone is not enough! You need a tried and tested formula for success.

A lot of books and magazines mislead you even further by constantly focusing in on plants and features, it's no wonder you're finding it difficult to create your dream garden. You've been getting the wrong information!

Well, that's not strictly fair.. You've been getting some of the right information, but at the wrong time, with the wrong focus…

Plants and features are the finishing touch to a good garden, they are NOT the starting point.

I discovered it's not so much what you put in the garden that creates the results, it's how you arrange the space that really makes the difference…

Especially in small gardens…

Once I sussed that out, then it was just a matter of working out which shapes suited different shape gardens so that they would look larger.

Then, designing gardens became incredibly quick and easy.

But it's not just worked for me. You don’t need to be a professional designer to use this formula. Take a look at what complete amateurs with no previous design experience have achieved using this garden design formula…

What I didn't realise when I first started using this formula, when applied correctly, it works on ANY size or shape of garden, not just small gardens…

The formula works on long narrow gardens, wide gardens, awkward shape gardens, square gardens and anything in between.
It has literally
revolutionised my design process…
countdown
00Hours00Minutes00Seconds
This is why I created the Small Garden Formula to guide you step-by-step through how to design any small space garden, no matter what shape.
Originally I thought it would only work for gardens under 10m in length (30ft) but people have found the principles can easily be used in gardens anywhere from 2m to 20m (approx 6 ft to 60 ft) and larger, with great success…

I've designed hundreds of small space gardens over the last 22 years as a professional international garden designer and I've learned what works and what doesn’t.

There's hundreds of hours of learning and perfecting every conceivable size, shape and style of small garden you can imagine, gone into the creation of the Small Garden Formula.

I wish someone had handed me this
easy to follow formula when I first started –

it would have saved hundreds of hours of unnecessary struggle, frustration and time!
The Small Garden Formula enables you to know which design shapes will work the best in your shape garden, so that it will look and feel more spacious.

The right design shapes and materials create movement in the design so that your garden looks more interesting as well as larger.

Shapes also bring clarity and definition so your garden is lower maintenance.

But don't just take my word for it…

Here's what others have
to say about the Small Garden Formula Online Course
“Hi Rachel,

I must say, ever since I saw your videos  and your presentations online, I know instantly Successful garden design was the course for me.

Many books I’ve read and I have never, even online,” about.com landscaping” have not truly explain the surveyor aspect or even the design process in great detail. Farther more, you have explain some stuff to us that a five year old child would have understand and copy your pattern. Thank you.”

“I have found everything helpful and clear. I have found that it is helping me to think outside of the square and seeing your finished gardens as examples are a big help too. I have mentioned it [Small Garden Design Formula] to several friends.”

MODULE 3
In this module Rachel will demonstrate the rules for different shape and styles of garden. So if your small garden is long and narrow, how you arrange the shapes in your garden will be completely different to wide or square gardens. Awkward shape gardens also have their own rules.
MODULE 4
In this Module Rachel will show you her cunning tricks to make small spaces look and feel larger. The types of materials you use and even subtle things like the direction you lay the paving or decking in, make a TREMENDOUS difference to how big your garden will look and feel.
MODULE 5
This Module is all about how to add the ‘WOW’ to your small garden with adding features, lighting, in-built seating etc. The trick is to add things in a way that not only utilises the space well, but can also give you additional storage and create interest as the same time. At the end of the module are some ‘cheat sheets’ you can print off that cover all of the main design shapes and principles for each garden shape.

Questions about the Small Garden
Formula online course
Do I need much gardening knowledge to use the techniques covered in the course?

No. Absolutely not. The course is designed to show both complete beginners and experienced gardeners a really simple design method that can be used to transform any size, shape or style of garden, quickly and easily.
I live in the southern hemisphere, will your course still be relevant for me?

Yes. The design techniques shown in the course work on any garden, anywhere! The principles of design do not change. The landscaping materials and plants will need to suit your location but the underlying framework of good design is a constant and not location specific.
How long does it take for the course to arrive?

The course is 100% online, so there’s no waiting for the postman. It’s instant access after your payment has gone though and you’ve clicked on the link contained in the welcome email, you’ll be sent your login information.
How long does it take to complete the course?

That will depend on how much time you devote to it each week and your individual learning style. As a rough guide, the main design section of the Small Garden Formula could be completed over a weekend, but I would recommend you take 2 weekends to allow time for the information to be fully absorbed. The survey course included with the course can also be completed over a weekend.
What happens if I get stuck on part of the course and need help?

You can ask Rachel any questions you have about the course material in the member’s area of the website.
What time and day does the course start?

The course is 100% online, with immediate access. So you can view it any time that is convenient for you, as many times as you want.
I'm an experienced gardener, will I really learn anything new?

You will definitely learn something new. The methods I teach in the Small Garden Formula are ones that I’ve developed over the last 20 years as a professional garden designer, so you won’t have come across them anywhere else. Good design is a completely different skill to gardening. What you’ll learn in the course will enhance your existing knowledge.
I’m not a professional landscaper, I just want to improve my own dull garden! Is this going to be really technical?

The method I use to design a garden is nice and simple. I do cover some technical aspects, but in a way that’s not at all complicated.
Does the course include a certification or qualification?

No. The course has been primarily designed for homeowners who wish to improve their own garden without needing to attend a college course for weeks on end, so there is no qualification. That being said, I have had a lot of landscape professionals who’ve done the course and say that they’ve learned more from it than their professional certified training courses!
Will you be able to look at my final design and offer advice on it?

This isn’t something that’s included in the course, but as a Small Garden Formula student you can purchase a plan review service from Rachel at a reduced cost, if you want her to double check your design.
Remember, you’ll get full access to the Small Garden Formula, all the video tutorials,
the Garden Survey Course, and the private Garden Ideas Photo Gallery at over half off the normal price. So go grab it now!
